At last, they are mine. I've checked the Jessica Simpson website literally like everyday since they were sold out a couple months ago and finally they're back!! Thank God I never bought them on ebay. People were trying to sell them for like 300+ when the shoe only costs $98 and if you look up a promotional coupon you can save 10%. Ridiculous! I can't wait until they are in my possession and on my feet--which should be Friday afternoon. I'm also breaking down and buying a camera this weekend so stay tuned. I know I've been saying that for weeks, but this time I'm for realz.

I've been going to the gym and seriously if you have never tried a spinning class you really should. It is so satisfying.

I went to Paraguay without any expectations and on very short notice, which in my opinion is the best way to travel. In fact, I got fired from yet another job for leaving on such short notice. It was well worth it.

Everyone keeps asking me what I thought of Paraguay. I initially planned to write a post about my week, but to be honest I don’t really know how to answer the question. I wrote a few paragraphs while I was there but when I came home and re-read it, it just didn’t really sound right.

All I can really say is that it was wonderful to see my family and that it is a beautiful country despite the widespread poverty.

Certain things that stood out:

1. While driving to Asuncion from Santa Rosa (about 4 long, bumpy hours) we passed through several small villages. It rained the whole way. I looked out the foggy windows as we passed by little homes, and families were just sitting on their porches watching the rain fall. There’s not much you can do there when it rains in the countryside; The TVs stop working, schools close, the dirt roads turn into puddles of mud, and there is simply nowhere to go…

2. Stray dogs, cats, chickens, and even cows wandered the streets looking for something to eat or a puddle to drink from.

3. My house there is surrounded by a tall brick wall with shards of glass and barbed wire on top to discourage trespassers. You can kind of see it in the third picture but it was really dark. My younger cousins painted the walls.

4. Meeting my baby cousin, Ana Claudia. She is so presh.

5. Toasting to life and happiness at dinner with my whole family who I had not seen in 11 years.

Lately I've been in the mood for really ugly things. I bought a hideous grandma sweater that I am absolutely obsessed with. It only cut me back 8 dollars. Unfortunately, this ugly little getup will hurt a little more. Something like 300 including boots. Yeah, just a little.

Unfortunately I foresee this turning into some kind of a journal until I get a camera. Not exactly my intention when I decided to blog but what can you do. I've been browsing cameras and at first I was looking at the basic point and shoot, but then I decided if I really want to get serious perhaps I should look for something that's not point and shoot. And that is apparently called a DSLR camera (which I just learned) and I am currently eyeing the Canon EOS Rebel XSi. look here And if you're reading, what kind of camera do you use/suggest?

Apparently its 3:18am and this spring forward fall back thing is messing me up. I can't sleep at all. I pulled out my journal because its kind of fun/nostalgic/sad/depressing/interesting all at the same time to read about what I was thinking when I was 15. I haven't journalled in a few months. I know that's probably not a word but you know what I mean.

"Please just let this happen. Let yourself feel every single moment of this. Not everyone is this lucky. Wouldn't you rather have experienced this for a short period of time then to have never felt this way at all? At least you know that this kind of feeling is actually real. You are on the brink of happiness-so close. Fear never reaching it, not actually attaining it."

It's rather odd to read things you desperately begged yourself to try to do. I don't know why this particular paragraph stuck out to me. I wrote it in October 2008 if you must know.

I don't know if its weirder to have random people read this or my mom. Maybe weird isn't the right word. I am grateful to anyone who will read what I write.

Sometimes I want to burn the journal. I am annoyed with myself for being so cliche and dramatic sometimes. But I guess I really felt all those things at one point or another.

Oh and I'm having so much fun with html! Did you notice the link?? I am so proud of myself.

How did I let these get away????? Sz Small in both colors already sold out from nasty gal. Only $48 compared to the original 'pleasure doing business' bandage skirt version for $98. Ahhhh yes maybe because I don't have a job anymore. Oh and I guess that camera will take a bit longer to replace. fml

Have you ever been fired before? Here, live vicariously through me. Sorry for being dramatic but I was already upset from being in a fight with my quasi-ex/boyfriend for nearly 72 hours now.

Somehow I make it to work even though every ounce of my being just wanted to stay in bed. I get there early, I look nice. I just did laundry so I have on a great outfit. I took a hot shower before I smoothed my makeup on. I look great. Really, really fucking great. I ask the bartender for cranberry juice and sip on it while I wait for my shift to start. I see the manager come up the stairs and I'm so happy with myself for getting there early and for looking so great and I'm feeling better about being at work because it will distract me from all the shitty things that are creeping up in my mind. He asks if he can speak to me privately. I smile and nod and follow him to the corner of the restaurant.... I'm wondering if hes going to ask me to stop wearing flats to work.... but I can't stand in one place in heels for 7 hours what does he expect.... and then he looks towards me. I say towards me because he avoids my eyes. He says, "I'm sorry but this isn't going to work out," my face falls. My cheeks start to turn pink. I don't know what to say, "I'll have your final paycheck on Tuesday. Sorry." With that, he turns away. I don't have a chance to defend myself. But given the opportunity, I'm not sure I would. A customer overhears at a nearby table and I feel his eyes on me. My hand is shaking as I set the cranberry juice down. I mumble thank you as he turns away. I put my coat back on and grab my purse. I keep my eyes down because I don't want anyone to see the anguish that I know is so clearly written all over my face. I shove the door open and feel the rush of cold, rainy wind as it whips around the buildings and up against my face. The wet, gray skies mirror my pains inside. I let myself cry freely. I let the hot drops roll down my face. I don't care if people see. I don't care about anything at all.

The weather has been so gorgeous in new york. I can't wait for spring! I spent the day walking around the lower east side and soho with a friend. I'm in the process of finding the right job so I probably won't be purchasing a camera any time soon. But in the mean time I'll share some old pictures like this one from last summer.

Today, while window shopping at some boutique, I stumbled upon gold. Literally. Obsessed. I will dream about them tonight.

I was looking through old pictures today and stumbled upon these from when I lived in LA. Such a simple outfit but still one of my favorites. I am obsessed with this lame skirt from AA but its just so annoying that it gets all stretched out after just a couple times. I can't even tell you how many I've bought. I miss LA. Trying to plan a trip out there soon. The first picture is probably one of the most amazing accidental pictures ever.

Going to miami this weekend with my friend and I am sooo excited. She has the most amazing style and wardrobe. I'll be sure to post a ton of pics. I can't wait to get out of this disgusting, cold, and snowy weather. I love ny but part of me wants to experience living in miami for even just a few months. Love that city. LA is fun and carefree, but miami takes it to another level.

I'm also overdue on FW posts, specifically the GF show, but I figure everyone has pretty much covered the best stuff. My favorites being: rag&bone, marc jacobs, wasson, and omg those Cushnie et Ochs wedges.

I really need to get into the habit of taking more outfit pics. I always forget.

I got LnA teal blue zipper leggings in one of those impulsive ebay frenzies which I happen to get all the time and now I have no idea how to wear them. Wait for spring? Maybe I'll whip them out this wknd...? Hmm.. Here is a really crappy cell phone pic. Ya I know, totally impractical color selection.

Still waiting to hear back from FIT and I'm basically dying.

LF is having their sale and I am so happy happy happy I want everything there. I got this amazing little leather jacket and I just noticed I forgot to take the tag off which you can see in the picture. And I got the Zoe boots. Ya I know I'm a little late on the Zoe trend but I still love them.

I haven't been posting as much as I would like to because some days I don't feel inspired and some days I hate my closet and some days I am just way too exhausted.

At first I thought I would be too exposed with the bra and mesh, but when I finally threw everything on, I ended up really liking it. I had the hat on just to keep my bangs flat while I was getting ready and right before I left to go out with friends, I decided to keep it on.
